Young black men in nursing homes

Folks,

This past weekend Eta Iota Sigma Chapter did two different community service projects and one was at this nursing home in Chevy Chase, MD. There were about 91 residences with 55% of them being males. We were really surprised that about 11% of these folks were in their 30s and 20s. It really makes you more appreciative about your life. Several of these gentlemen were recovering from gun shot wounds.

I always enjoy doing community service for so many needy folks.

That sounds like a wonderful project soRHOr.
So many of us often lose sight of how lucky we are to be "independent". A lot of us have those simple daily tasks we take for granted; bathing, brushing your own hair, etc taken from us far too young.

Sorhor Pristine1922,

A few of those guys really were so overjoyed by a card and a small angel ornament.

Hey Serious Sigma!!!

I just wanted to say that it was really great to read about Eta Iota Sigma and the work y'all are doing for the holidays. I am really inspired to go bless someone the way you all have.
