Rachel from "Friends"
I asked on some other thread if anyone knew which sorority Rachel from friends was supposed to be in, b/c I saw a rerun where Winona Ryder was one of her old sisters. I just saw another old rerun tonight and when Rachel and Monica went to NYU to watch Ross give a lecture, Rachel spotted some of her old KKD's...
Rachel: Hey, look, some of my Kappa Kappa Deltas! Hi sisters! (waving)
(the girls walk by her without even acknowledging her) Rachel: (surprised) Wow, we really are bitches!
I had to laugh at that...I can only imagine prissy Rachel as a prissy sorority girl...but she is my favorite!
BTW, is KKD a real sorority?

Friends is one of my favorite shows.. i remember that episode, and also the one where her old sorority sister comes back and she tells her friends about the night they kissed after a hawaiin beach party with their "coconuts knocking together", and the girl pretends not to remember until they are alone, then professes her undying love to rachel.. hahah good show
also i'm rather sure KKD isn't a real sorority.

No, KKD isnt real and yes they cannot use real group letter w/o permission. They do however seem to elude to similar groups. I love friends!! I love Rachel but I have to say Febe is my fav!

Sounds like the writers made up KKD to be a hybrid of KKG and KD.
The only "real" sorority that I have heard being referenced in a TV show, is "Sex and the City", where Charlotte meets some of her old KKG sorority sisters.....

I wonder how that works. I know that in one episode of Designing Women, Charlene (Jean Smart) refers to Alpha Delta Pi. She is an Alpha Delta Pi, so that wouldn't be a unusual. But in one episode of the Golden Girls Blanche(Rue McClanahan) refers to her Alpha Gam sisters and goes to their reunion. But Rue is actually a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Hmm?
Sorry...I watch way to many reruns on Lifetime!!

I know that the character Suzzane Sugarbaker was suposedly a Pi Phi, but Delta Burke is not. Maybe one of the writers was?

Yes, it's the episode that takes place not long after Charlotte marries Trey. He becomes impotent and Charlotte is sexually frustrated and expresses this to her sorority sisters (in rather, ahem...graphic terms).
Her sorority sisters, who are Kappa Kappa Gammas (Carrie refers to them as "Kappa Kappa Grandma" in her voice-over) are not amused, and Charlotte storms away from the table.
