Hey Guys,

My company just awarded scholarships to some of your brothers. Here's the press release I sent to you National headquarters! Congratulations!

AGR Brothers Win Scholarships

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JUNE 21, 2004, RESTON, VA-Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers is honored to award members of Alpha Gamma Rho academic scholarships for the upcoming school year.

"These bright young scholars represent Maryland & Virginia's and the dairy industry's future leaders, and we can't allow college tuition costs to stand in their way. We're pleased we can support these member students by offsetting some of their educational expenses," said Maryland & Virginia's General Manager Jay Bryant.

Each year Maryland & Virginia presents five $1,000 scholarships for the upcoming academic year based on each applicant's academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need and future plans. Thanks to donations from members, industry partners and an anonymous contributor, Maryland & Virginia is able to award15 additional scholarships this year. For more information about donating to Maryland & Virginia's scholarship fund, please contact Amber DuMont, communications manager at 703-742-7406.

Alpha Gamma Rho members receiving scholarships include:
* Ryan Shank, a sophomore Dairy Science major at Delaware Valley College plans to apply his education to one day operate his family's farm in Hagerstown, Md. Ryan, the son of Ralph and Teresa Shank, is involved in the Delaware Valley College Dairy Society and FFA, the Ayrshire Breeders Association, Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and Shiloh United Methodist Church. He received a $1,000 scholarship from Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers.

Receiving $750 scholarships are:
* Michael Creek, the son of Mike and Mary Creek, will complete his Animal and Dairy Science degree at Cornell University this December. He plans to work full time with his mother and uncle on their dairy farm in Hagerstown, Md. Michael is involved in the National Ayrshire Youth Committee, Cornell Dairy Club, Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren.

* Aaron Ray Tompkins is a senior Dairy Science major at Virginia Tech and operates his own dairy farm in Ferrum, Va. Aaron is the son of John and Abreena from Ennice, N.C., and he belongs to the Virginia Tech Dairy Club, Alpha Gamma Rho and numerous breed organizations and was a runner-up in the Maryland & Virginia Outstanding Young Cooperator contest. Upon graduation in December, Aaron Ray plans to expand and relocate his dairy operation and to work with elite genetics.

Receiving a $200 scholarship is:
* Raymond Shenk IV is a senior Dairy Science and Business Management major at Delaware Valley College. Raymond, the son of Carol and Chester Beahm from Remington, Va., is active in the Delaware Valley Dairy Society, Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and Dayspring Mennonite Church. Raymond would like to use his education as a herdsman on a large dairy farm eventually own his own farm.

Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers is a milk marketing and processing cooperative that represents nearly 1,500 dairy farmer-owners in 11 states from Pennsylvania to Alabama. The cooperative includes two fluid processing plants: Marva Maid in Newport News, Va., and Maola Milk and Ice Cream in New Bern, N.C.; manufacturing plants in Laurel, Md., and Strasburg, Va.; and an equipment and farm supply business in Frederick, Md.
