An AI is initiated into a sorority when she is not an undergrad. Usually later in life. She may have had affilitations with a sorority in college but was never initiated. Or she may have not had a chance to pledge/join in college but later on decided she'd like to. The process for becoming an AI varies by sorority. Once initiated, you receive all the rights and priviledges as if you'd joined in college.
