Co-sign - too close to the azure blue catsuits!! ;)

Actually, I do agree with a good 95% of what was stated. As they say, "Everybody knows somebody who knows somebody who knows the President."

(Went to check my Penquins!) GeekyPenquin summed it up quite well.

Co-sign! Spandex is a Privilege not a right! :D

any1 on the NPHC side of this arguement? i totally understand the discretion thing, but i could imagine you wouldnt even think about posting ur intake experience. correct? and for NPC, its a week. correct me if im wrong, but doesnt the whole process for NPHC last the entire semester? which means ur shut-mouth for about 3 months?

That would be correct. Before I found Theta Nu Xi, I did tons and tons of research on every sorority out there. When I hadn't even found a home, I posted maybe one thread asking about the correct way to research. My old screen name was prospectiverushee. When I was on-line, I still posted on GC, but nobody knew. Not even my family knew. Then when I became a beautiful butterfly of Theta Nu Xi, I was able to share with all my GC friends.

My 2¢

Internet or no, avoid using profanity during recruitment! I realize that many people use it daily, but it just makes such a horrible first or second impression!

Even if the sisters think you're just super, an alumna hearing a potty-mouth will rarely think well of you after hearing it.

This is quite true. Also talking negatively about other chapters during recruitment offline can bite you in the butt. One of my friends went through Kentucky's recruitment fall of 97. She and this other girl got caught by the dean of greek affairs making fun of one of the house's after coming out of one of their parties. Both my friend and the other girl were pulled from recruitment and were not allowed to continue. So PNMs if you feel the need to talk negatively about a chapter/house be mindful of who is around, otherwise keep a lid on it ! :)

I agree with James 100%. I know I have PMed PNMs and warned them to say NOTHING! I bet others have too.

We could help some of these young ladies as well. If we see something that appears to give away too much information, PM them so they can do some damage control. Watch your posts on other threads as well prior to rushing.

There are way to many eyes looking over these threads during rush. All motives are not pure.

Also, for our part, leave them alone and stop begging them to name names. It's easy to feel relaxed on GC and open to seemingly nice people. It's natural to want to confide in someone who cares. It's also natural to want to share information/gossip, something GC is famous for.

I would like to add something else to this if I may...........

PNM's.......be very mindful of the image you portray of yourself on GC if you post in other areas besides the rush forum. People will read what you post and if you post something totally loopy or outlandish...........well you never know who might be reading your posts in other forums.........just be aware of that as well.......

Good point Mary. Also...it really is not a good idea to post in the (for example) KKG forum and say "I really want to be a Kappa, it is the sorority I like the best!" and then post the same exact message in 3 other sororities' forums.

Jill1228 01-29-2004 07:58 PM

Definitely! Or spam ALL the forums saying "I want to be an XYZ". What is the required GPA?" Go to your school's Panhellenic site and read up! Or stop by the Panhell office and inquire!
